Memento

[ENG] MEMENTO is a 2D mobile platformer made for a collage game jam "Showmaker" 2024.

Play as Eli, who awakens in Memento, a desolate mountain surrounded by forest where spirits scare away outsiders. With a ghost behind them and a dreamcatcher in their pocket, Eli decides to cautiously go down the mountain in search of refuge. On the way down they collect crystals that reveal moments in their life, forcing them to confront memories of their violent father and the death of their mother. Are you capable of facing what is at the end of the mountain?

Through the concept of "Silence" we seek to raise awareness about domestic violence. Players will immerse themselves in the complex sense of burden and anguish in the role of an infant to reflect on the emotional and social implications of experiencing abuse and dealing with trauma in silence.

Juega como Eli, quien despierta en Memento, un monte desolado rodeado por bosque donde espíritus espantan a los forasteros. Con un fantasma detrás y con un atrapasueños en el bolsillo, Eli resuelve bajar con cautela la montaña en busca de refugio. En el camino abajo reúne cristales que revelan momentos de su vida y le obligan a enfrentarse a recordar a su padre violento y la muerte de su madre. ¿Eres capaz de enfrentarte a lo que hay al final de la montaña?

A través del concepto del "Silencio" se busca sensibilizar ante el problema de la violencia intrafamiliar. Los jugadores se sumergirán en la compleja sensación de carga y angustia en el rol de un infante para reflexionar sobre las implicaciones emocionales y sociales de vivir el maltrato y lidiar con el trauma en silencio.
